Donate Parts

Maybe you have some spare computer parts?

Even if you don't have a computer to donate, we can use your spare parts.

Many of the machines we receive are perfectly good -- except for one component. We save the usable parts from machines which can't be salvaged, and place them in other machines. However, there are always parts of which we have a shortage.

These are our current parts needs:

RAM

Because most of the machines we receive have only two slots for memory, we need memory sticks of at least 512M. These are the types most needed:

PC133
PC2100 512+
PC2700 512+
DDR2-400 (PC2-3200) 512+
DDR2-533 (PC2-4200) 512+
DDR2-667 (PC2-5300) 512+

Video/Graphics Cards

We have the greatest need for Nvidia and ATI graphics cards with 3d capability, AGP, PCI or PCIexpress.

Because they do not work well with Linux, we cannot use Diamond and Matrox cards.

DVD/CD ROM Drives

We need DVD/CD ROM Drives - can use internal or USB.

USB/Thumb Drives

We have a need for USB drives that are 4GB or greater.

Power Supplies

We have a need for power supplies that are 300W or greater.

Other Parts

  • Hard drive and CD ROM jumpers (We sometimes run out of these!)
  • Hardware screws. (We sometimes run out of these too!)

Here are the drop off locations for parts.
